Elitele transilvane şi patronii lor: strategii sociale, opţiuni politice şi structuri comunitare (secolele XIII-XX)

Transilvania înseamnă diversitate. Este un truism în curs de perimare, dar unul perfect valabil la nivelul elitelor din regiune pe perioade complet diferite, ca structură, ca expresie, ca obiective, de la epoca arpadiană la mutaţiile aduse de instalarea regimului comunist. Tema de cercetare îşi propune să identifice trăsăturile distinctive grefate de perioa-da istorică, de etnie, de confesiune ori de evoluţia raporturilor economice. Totodată, tema de cercetare urmăreşte evaluarea, validarea/ invalidarea sau reformularea acelor „legităţi transilvane” care „hrănesc” conceptul de individualitate al Transilvanei. În aceste condiţii, cercetările în cadrul temei vor fi concentrate pe valorificarea multitudinii surselor disponibile pentru istoria Transilvaniei, eliberând astfel cercetările propriu-zise de predeterminările „istoriografice”, de dată mai veche ori mai recentă.

Transylvania means diversity. This is a truism soon to be obsolete, but one perfectly valid on the level of the elites in the region throughout completely different historical periods (in terms of structure, expression or objectives), from the age of the Arpads to the mutations brought about by the installation of the Communist regime. The research aims at identifying the distinctive features enforced by the historical period, by ethnicity, by confession or by the evolution of economic relations. At the same time, the research attempts to evaluate, validate/ invalidate or reformulate those ‘Transylvanian laws’ that ‘feed’ the concept of Transylvanian individuality. Under these circumstances, the studies triggered by this research topic will focus on harnessing the multitude of sources available for the history of Transylvania, therefore liberating the actual studies from older or more recent ‘historiographical’ predeterminations.
